It looked mightily unlikely that Thomas Frank would be in charge for this fixture, given Spurs’ league run.
But the Champions League has been his saviour and continues to be so, having won in midweek to secure a spot in the last-16, finishing in a terrific fourth place.
In the league, it’s a far different story with Spurs in 14th place and closer in points to the relegation zone than they are to fifth place.
Defeats to Bournemouth and West Ham were followed by a draw at Burnley last time out.
That’s now one win in eight league games and winless in their last five, which is form reflective of their position.
For City, they go into the weekend now just four points behind leaders Arsenal, who are playing on Saturday with the chance to open that further.
Derby defeat at Old Trafford doesn’t look quite so bad now that United have followed up on it with a win at the Emirates but City remain in a difficult run of fixtures and can’t afford any more slip-ups.
City have won on their last two visits here in the league….
