Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram has been named as the replacement for injured Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry for this weekend’s NBA All-Star Game in Inglewood, California.
A 10-year veteran, Ingram, who is averaging 22.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists this season, will be added to the USA Stripes roster while making his second All-Star appearance.
“Being an All-Star today is an amazing accomplishment,” Ingram said, according to Sportsnet. “… To God be the glory. I’m thankful for another accomplishment in my book.”
Ingram signed a three-year, $120 million extension with the Raptors in February 2025 after he was acquired via trade with the New Orleans Pelicans.
“I love the decision to come to Toronto,” Ingram said. “It’s expanded my game more, especially on the defensive end. … On the offensive end, I’ve been able to be efficient. I’ve been able to show what I can do.”
In 2019-20, his first season with the Pelicans, Ingram was an NBA All-Star and won Most Improved Player of the Year.
Curry missed his fourth consecutive game on Monday with a lingering issue known as runner’s knee. The Warriors are hopeful he will return to the lineup after the All-Star break Feb. 19 at home against the Boston Celtics.
The 75th NBA All-Star Game will take place Sunday at Intuit Dome.
