The Men’s Olympic hockey odds for 2030 will soon reflect one of the tightest gold medal games in recent memory after the United States edged Canada 2-1 in overtime in 2026. One goal decided the rivalry — and it will influence how sportsbooks price the next Olympic cycle.

With futures markets expected to open in the coming days, bettors face the big question: Does Team USA deserve to be the early favorite, or will Canada’s depth keep it atop the board?

    2030 Men’s Olympic hockey odds

Odds as of February 22: Sportsbooks have not yet released 2030 futures pricing following Team USA’s 2-1 overtime win over Canada in the gold medal game.

Opening numbers are expected soon from major sportsbooks. Once posted, we’ll break down where Canada, the United States, and Sweden open on the futures board.

While we wait for prices to hit the market, here’s an early look at the teams expected to headline 2030.

Early 2030 Men’s Olympic hockey contenders

    Canada Canada

Canada will enter 2030 motivated after falling 2-1 in overtime to the United States in the 2026 gold medal game. Despite the loss, the talent gap isn’t going anywhere.

Connor McDavid, Macklin Celebrini, Mitch Marner, Nathan MacKinnon, and Cale Makar give Canada unmatched high-end depth. If the core remains intact, expect the Canadians to make another deep run.

    USA USA

The defending Olympic champions will head to 2030 with belief and continuity. The U.S. was arguably the most complete team over the two-week tournament, and that experience matters.

With Auston Matthews, Jack Eichel, and Quinn Hughes anchoring the roster, Team USA should once again sit in the shortest tier of the odds market. The question won’t be talent; it’ll be whether they can handle the pressure of defending gold.

    Sweden Sweden

Sweden pushed the United States to overtime and proved it belongs in the top tier. The result didn’t go the Swedes’ way, but the gap isn’t wide.

Led by William Nylander and Adrian Kempe, the Swedes return a core capable of competing with North America’s best. Coaching stability will be something to monitor, but Sweden should enter 2030 as the leading European challenger based on pure roster strength.

The 2-1 overtime win immediately reshaped the international pecking order. Now, sportsbooks must decide whether Team USA deserves to open as the 2030 favorite — or if Canada’s depth still commands top billing.
