Frank Warren doesn’t think Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao should be stepping back inside the ring.

Mayweather and Pacquiao will meet in a rematch on September 19 in Las Vegas 11 years on from their historic first fight.

The amount of money the two rivals generates the first time around meant that another meeting between them was always going to be an attractive option.

That being said, there’s a question as to whether fans are interested in seeing it, with Viddal Riley questioning if anyone still cares.

Hall of Fame promoter Warren shares the same opinion and went one step further by saying that neither man should be fighting again.

Frank Warren says Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao shouldn’t be fighting at their ages

Manny Pacquiao has said his rematch with Floyd Mayweather will be even bigger than their 2015 bout that smashed PPV records.

It’s sure to draw a big audience on Netflix, but many remember the first fight for happening too late in their careers, let alone a rematch 11 years later.

Queensbury’s Frank Warren says it isn’t just the fight itself that has caused him to dismiss it.

“No, I don’t,” he responded when asked by TalkSPORT whether he cares about it. “Look, these guys, they’re going to earn some money. Good luck to them. It’s dangerous they’re doing it, I don’t like the idea of it… the bottom line is that’s their business, let them get on with it. Me, I have no interest in the fight.”

Mayweather turned 49 yesterday (February 24) and Pacquiao is only two years younger than his iconic former opponent.

When Warren was asked to elaborate on why he has no interest in the fight, he added, “It’s dangerous. They’re too old and that’s it. They shouldn’t be fighting at that age.”

Frank Warren did make one admission about Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao 2

Frank Warren said that whoever has aged more gracefully will win the rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao later this year.

While it’s this factor that makes him concerned about this matchup, he did make one concession about one of the competitors.

Warren highlighted that while he didn’t win his first fight in four years, Pacquiao did surprise a lot of people when he fought to a draw with Mario Barrios last year.

That being said, ‘PacMan’ having 23 more professional bouts to his name, several wars, and three knockout losses mean that Mayweather may still be the fresher fighter.
