Max Holloway not ruling out another high-stakes rematch following UFC 326

Max Holloway isn’t ruling out a potential rematch against Conor McGregor following his UFC 326 clash.

On March 7, Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira will clash in the UFC 326 main event with the BMF title on the line.

The pair of UFC legends first clashed back in 2015 in what was both fighters’ first main event, with Holloway coming out on top due to a bizarre injury to Oliveira.

‘Blessed’ Holloway has a lot of history with several top fighters in the lightweight division, linked to both the interim champion Justin Gaethje, and the undisputed champion, Ilia Topuria.

With such a deep-rooted history in the featherweight and lightweight divisions, an impressive win over ‘Do Bronx’ on March 7 could once again put Holloway in undisputed title contention.

Despite that, the 34-year-old isn’t ruling out a potential rematch against Conor McGregor, who he lost to in 2013 at the beginning of both of their UFC tenures.

“Yeah, we’ll see what happens, you know?” Holloway replied in an interview with ESPN when he was asked if he’d call McGregor out with a win.

“First thing is first, how many times have we seen guys talk about the future and they kind of forget about the fight in front of them and then they fall straight on their ass.

“After this, brother, there is so much. I have history with the interim champion in our weight class, I have history with the undisputed title holder in our weight class and then like you said, Conor McGregor.

“I have the BMF title and the last time I checked, the BMF title was at 170lbs before, so we’ll see what happens. Imagine a UFC 300 moment all over again, holy s—, the world is ours, so that’s what I’m gonna go out for,” he continued.

Who will Conor McGregor fight in his UFC return?

Despite having not fought since 2021, ‘The Notorious’ has been targeting a return on the upcoming UFC White House event on June 14.

And ahead of his potential return on the historic event, he has been going through extensive drug-testing, making him the most tested athlete in the sport.

Over the past few weeks, the Irishman has been linked to several different fighters, with most recent rumors linking him to a potential fight against Carlos Prates.

However, the former UFC double champion remains adamant that if he does return to the sport, his comeback fight should be against Michael Chandler, finally settling their longtime feud.

Despite that, it is unclear as of this moment who the promotion will match McGregor up with, and Holloway could add his name to that mix with a potential BMF title fight if he retains the title.
