Stricken boxer Isis Sio has been released from hospital after several days of treatment following her knockout defeat to Jocelyn Camarillo, World Boxing News can reveal.

The update was confirmed by family member Erin Sio, who stated the 19-year-old professional light flyweight is continuing her recovery at home after overcoming serious post-traumatic complications.

The bout took place on the undercard of Lester Martinez vs Immanuwel Aleem.

Over the past two days, her condition steadily improved under the care of medical staff.

    Remarkable Recovery

Erin Sio shared the update in a Facebook post praising the boxer’s resilience during the difficult period.

“We are grateful to share that professional light flyweight boxer Isis Sio has been released from the hospital and is continuing her recovery.

“Over the past several days, Isis has shown remarkable and inspiring progress, overcoming serious post-traumatic complications and responding extremely well to the care of the medical team.

“What she has been able to overcome in such a short period of time speaks to her extraordinary strength, resilience, and the spirit that has always defined her as a fighter.”

    Support From Boxing World

The message also thanked the boxing community and supporters who followed Sio’s condition throughout the ordeal.

“We are deeply thankful for the overwhelming love, prayers, and support that have come from the boxing community, friends, fans, and people around the world.

“The prayers lifted up during this time have meant everything to Isis and her family. God is great, and we truly believe He heard every single prayer that was said for her.

“We are incredibly grateful for the compassion and faith shown by so many during this difficult moment.”

Sio also asked for respect toward her opponent following criticism directed at Camarillo after the bout.

“Isis also wants to make it clear that she has nothing but love and respect for her opponent, Jocelyn Camarillo.

“Boxing is a sport that demands courage from every athlete who steps into the ring. The negativity that has been directed toward Jocelyn following the bout is upsetting to Isis, and she hopes supporters will continue to show respect and compassion for both fighters who shared the ring.”
