Real concern has begun to grow around Deontay Wilder after a string of raw and unfiltered interviews during his current UK visit ahead of a potential fight with Derek Chisora.

What should have been a routine promotional tour has instead turned into another chapter in a saga that has followed the former WBC heavyweight champion since Tyson Fury inflicted the first defeat of his career.

World Boxing News has documented the evolution of Wilder’s comments and behavior across several interviews since that devastating loss, and the latest appearances have again placed the spotlight firmly on the Alabama puncher himself.

    Simon Jordan Walkout

The most visible flashpoint came during Wilder’s appearance on talkSPORT with Simon Jordan.

When Fury’s name was raised during the interview, Wilder shut the discussion down immediately.

“I won’t talk about him. We are not going to talk about him at all,” Wilder said.

As the conversation escalated, Wilder doubled down.

“You can say what you want. I know the truth. I have the facts.”

Moments later the former champion stood up and walked out of the studio, abruptly ending the interview. The confrontation quickly spread online and added to the reaction surrounding Wilder’s UK tour following the talkSPORT walk-off involving Simon Jordan.

    Piers Morgan Interview

Only weeks later Wilder again went viral during an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

During the interview he shared a graphic personal story involving a former partner and the conception of his first child.

“I tried to wipe it off but she hit my hand so hard and ran into the bathroom,” Wilder said before claiming she later inseminated herself with his sperm.

The moment left Morgan visibly stunned and rapidly circulated across social media.

    Personal Trauma

Wilder, who now goes by the moniker ‘King of God’s Army,’ also revealed deeply personal details about his upbringing, including the murder of his brother.

The disclosure added another emotional layer to a series of interviews that have often felt less like standard fight promotion and more like raw reflections on the experiences that shaped his life before boxing made him famous.

    A Pattern Since Fury

For followers of Wilder’s career, none of it arrived in isolation.

Once feared as the hardest puncher in heavyweight boxing, Wilder now finds his interviews drawing as much attention as his fights.

World Boxing News has chronicled a number of unusual comments from the Alabama puncher since Fury stopped him in their second fight in 2020, a defeat that ended Wilder’s long reign as WBC heavyweight champion.

In recent years Wilder has spoken openly about how experiences influenced his outlook on life, something he discussed when revealing claims about hallucinogenic visions and accusations he had been lied to.

He later expanded on those times away from the sport when discussing a psychoactive brew he believed could influence his future, remarks that drew widespread reaction among boxing followers.

Wilder also sparked debate with surreal reflections about existence before birth, including comments surrounding inception that became widely shared after the bizarre “mother’s womb” explanation surfaced.

The repeated interviews eventually prompted fans to openly question his behaviour and urge him to step away from social media altogether, with some calling for someone to take control of his phone.

Others began wondering whether the former champion was still the same person mentally following the Fury losses, a topic that continued gaining traction until today.

    Chisora Fight Approaches

All of it comes as Wilder attempts to revive his career in a proposed showdown with British veteran Derek Chisora.

The contest has been discussed as part of Wilder’s comeback following defeats to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang, setbacks that left the former champion searching for a path back toward relevance in the heavyweight picture.

A low-key victory over Tyrrell Herndon last summer gave Wilder a foot in the door, but even then he failed to capitalize and has been out almost a year once again.

He now faces Chisora on Saturday night, who remains one of Britain’s most durable and outspoken heavyweights. ‘WAR’ is a veteran known for his willingness to trade punches and take high-profile fights regardless of the risk.

However, judging by the reaction to Wilder’s recent activity, attention has drifted away from the fight itself.

Instead, the focus has once again returned to the unpredictable comments and revelations that have surrounded Wilder since Fury delivered the most damaging defeat of his career.
