Tomyamkoong targets back-to-back knockouts at ONE Friday Fights 149

Tomyamkoong Bhumjaithai is riding a two-fight winning streak into the biggest night of his career. The 21-year-old PK Saenchai Muaythaigym fighter headlines ONE Friday Fights 149 on April 3 against Moldovan debutant Bejenuta Maximus in flyweight Muay Thai, live from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Tomyamkoong’s promotional journey started with adversity. Two consecutive losses forced him to go back to the drawing board and overhaul his game before he found his footing. The rebuild paid off with a pair of wins, the latest a devastating one-punch knockout of Watcharaphon Singha Mawynn that announced him as a genuine contract threat.

Now he faces Maximus, a 24-year-old kickboxing-based fighter from Moldova with a 14-3 record and six finishes, who brings sharp hands and creative combinations to Bangkok for his ONE debut.

Tomyamkoong has studied the matchup closely and identifies a clear rule-set advantage he plans to exploit throughout.

“Following those two losses, I went back and completely overhauled my game. I focused heavily on my defense and sharpening my weapons, and it paid off with two back-to-back wins,” Tomyamkoong said.

“From what I’ve studied, Bejenuta is more of a kickboxing stylist — his hands are dangerous, but I haven’t seen much else from him in terms of traditional Muay Thai weapons.”

Tomyamkoong Bhumjaithai’s game plan for April 3 is built around sustained pressure. He intends to stay out of Maximus’s range in the early exchanges before cutting off the ring and forcing the fight inside — shutting down the Moldovan’s punching game and grinding him down through volume and clinch work.

A finish is not a bonus. It is the mission. Tomyamkoong understands that two knockouts in a row, against an international opponent in his first main event, would send a clear message to the division.

“For this fight, I’m going to avoid staying on the outside to minimize his reach advantage. I’ll use my work rate to press forward and take the fight inside. The goal is to shut down his weapons and just outwork him until he gases out. If I stick to the plan, I’m confident I’ll get the win,” Tomyamkoong Bhumjaithai said.

“It’s going to be an absolute war because I’ll be the one moving forward the whole time. My goal isn’t just to win; I want to finish him and make it two KOs in a row. Since this is my first time headlining a ONE Friday Fights card, knocking out a foreign opponent would really put my name on the map. It’ll help me get those consistent fights I’m aiming for.”
