Only Puca Nacua rivaled JSN’s season in 2025, and not even by much. (Nacua outscored JSN by just .5 half-ppr points from Week 1 through Week 17!) Point is, Smith-Njigba was a league-winning receiver last season — and most of us know by now that having that game-breaking receiver on your fantasy team is an incredible boon.
But with all this talk about multiple-tight-end sets being en vogue in the NFL now, what does it mean for the elite do-it-all wide receivers like JSN? Will he regress next season as defenses adjust?

While JSN might suffer regression in the target department (he had 163 for crying out loud), Seattle was ahead of the curve, being among the teams to implement more heavy packages last season. That, in part, helped take the star receiver to a new level, highlighted by a plethora of explosive plays. Yahoo Sports analysts Matt Harmon and Nate Tice remind us that, when teams pass with multiple TEs on the field, they’re usually looking for big chunk plays — plays when JSN shines most.
While secondary receivers might suffer across the board as they come off the field in heavy packages, elite, big-play guys like Jaxon Smith-Njigba should continue to get opportunities and thrive.
