    The weekend field is set at Shinnecock Hills, with 72 golfers surviving the U.S. Open’s +4 cut line. While pre-tournament favorites like Scottie Scheffler cruised comfortably into the weekend, several high-profile names weren’t as fortunate.

    One of the most heavily bet markets throughout the week was whether players would make the cut, and the final results produced plenty of surprises as major champions and betting favorites headed home early.

    2026 U.S. Open cut line settles at +4

    The 2026 U.S. Open cut line landed at +4 on Friday at Shinnecock Hills, leaving 72 players alive heading into the weekend.

    While Wyndham Clark sits on top of the leaderboard at 7-under, several high-profile names failed to survive the cut. Bryson DeChambeau, Viktor Hovland, Jon Rahm, Patrick Cantlay, Shane Lowry, Brooks Koepka, Cameron Smith, and Patrick Reed were among the notable players sent home early.

    The U.S. Open cut rule advances the Top 60 players in the U.S. Open field after Round 2 (plus ties) to the final two rounds, trimming the 156-player starting field by more than half.
