Another week has come and gone, and it is time to look ahead to the upcoming slate of Major League Baseball action and dive into the fantasy baseball streaming pitchers. I’m here every week to give you suggestions on which pitchers you should stream to win your matchups.

I will be using FantasyPros’ streaming pitchers rankings to help determine my picks. Sync your league to find your own high-potential starters on the waiver wire.

Fantasy Baseball In-Season Waiver Wire & Trade Advice

Keep in mind that starters can get off schedule, and some projected starters may be pushed back due to injuries or weather.

First, let’s take a look at last week’s picks:

    • Andre Pallante (SP – STL) vs. ARI: 6.0 Innings, 2 Strikeouts, 0 Earned Runs, 6 Hits, 1 Walk (Win)
    • Peter Lambert (SP, RP – HOU) @TOR: 4.2 Innings, 6 Strikeouts, 2 Earned Runs, 6 Hits, 3 Walks (No Decision)
    • Cade Cavalli (SP – WSH) vs. PHI: 6.0 Innings, 7 Strikeouts, 2 Earned Runs, 5 Hits, 1 Walk (No Decision)
    • Troy Melton (SP – DET) vs. HOU: 6.0 Innings, 6 Strikeouts, 1 Earned Run, 2 Hits, 0 Walks (Loss)
    • Keider Montero (SP – DET) vs. HOU: 7.0 Innings, 3 Strikeouts, 0 Earned Runs, 5 Hits, 1 Walk (Win)
    • Robert Gasser (SP – MIL) vs. CHC: Start pushed back
    • Zebby Matthews (SP – MIN) vs. COL: Start pushed back

    Total: 29.2 Innings, 24 Strikeouts, 5 Earned Runs, 24 Hits, 6 Walks (2-1)

This was an incredible week that lost a little bit of momentum at the end. It can be hard to predict what teams are going to do with their rotation, hence Robert Gasser and Zebby Matthews being pushed back.

Every pitcher who started made a great impact. Four out of our five pitchers last week earned quality starts, and Peter Lambert at least had some strikeouts to go with his short outing. Let’s aim for more quality this upcoming week.

Fantasy Baseball Streaming Pitchers: Week 14

    Monday, June 29

    Tyler Mahle (SP – SFG) @ARI | 1% Rostered

We are unfortunately starting off the week with perhaps my least favorite streamer. Tyler Mahle has a 5.49 ERA (4.35 xERA) and is falling short of the reliable pitcher he has been in the past. However, I like Mahle against the Diamondbacks.

The 31-year-old veteran returned from a hamstring injury on June 24th with a bounce-back performance. The righty held the Athletics scoreless across 5.2 innings, striking out four.

We do not need dominance from Mahle; we just need him to limit the damage. His expected stats suggest some favorable regression, and the Diamondbacks have the league’s fourth-lowest OPS (.692). Consider Mahle for the light matchup.

Alternative: Robert Gasser (SP – MIL) vs. MIN | 2% Rostered

    Tuesday, June 30

    Bubba Chandler (SP – PIT) @PHI | 22% Rostered

Bubba Chandler has recently been better than what his stats say. Yes, he has a 4.42 ERA (4.24 xERA) and has allowed the third-most walks in baseball. However, since the beginning of June, the 23-year-old has posted a 3.62 ERA. The walks are still there, but the flamethrowing righty is finding ways to limit damage. He has 21 strikeouts in 27.1 innings.

Chandler faces the Phillies, who have the eighth-lowest OPS in baseball (.701). However, I do not want to consider this an easy matchup because the Phillies are 47-37 and have Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber.

Once again, this is not my favorite streaming option of the week. Regardless, give Chandler a second glance. He probably has the highest potential on the waiver wire, although he has yet to follow through.

Alternative: JP Sears (SP – SDP) @CHC | 1% Rostered

    Wednesday, July 1

Tatsuya Imai (SP – HOU) vs. MIN | 23% Rostered

Talk about a hot-and-cold pitcher. Start Tatsuya Imai if you are feeling brave. Forget about him if you value your cardiovascular health.

Imai has been on lately. The 28-year-old righty’s most recent two starts have both gone six innings with 10 and 11 strikeouts, respectively. His outing beforehand? He lasted 0.2 innings with five runs allowed. You can see the struggle in rostering him.

Fortune favors the bold, and sometimes that means starting a pitcher with a 5.36 ERA (4.12 xERA) against a good offense. Imai has electric strikeout potential. His slider, his most common pitch, has a 42% whiff rate. I will never blame you for sitting this one out, but Imai is on a hot streak if you want to come aboard.

Alternative: Joey Cantillo (SP – CLE) vs. TEX | 22% Rostered

    Thursday, July 2

    Walbert Urena (SP – LAA) @SEA | 16% Rostered

Walbert Urena has been an exciting bright spot for the Angels. The rookie has impressed with a 3.14 ERA (3.25 xERA) in 71.2 innings, striking out 69 batters. The 22-year-old righty consistently hits very high-90s velocity and has been finding incredible MLB success.

Urena wields a sinker, change-up, four-seamer and sweeper in his arsenal. His change-up has an impressive 35.9% whiff rate, and batters are hitting only .167 on his fastball. Urena’s pitch-mix has been a big part of his success up to now.

I love Urena against the Mariners, who have the fifth-lowest OPS in baseball (.695) and the eighth-most strikeouts (728).

Alternative: Keider Montero (SP – DET) @TEX | 10% Rostered

    Friday, July 3

    Javier Assad (SP – CHC) @STL | 6% Rostered

Javier Assad has been wonderful since being readjusted to the rotation. In four starts, Assad has allowed five runs across 23 innings, striking out 16. He has a 4.04 ERA on the year, but beware of his 4.57 xERA.

Assad is making his way back as a consistent MLB player after missing most of 2025 with a left oblique strain. There are ups and downs after an injury, and the pitcher is currently in a big up.

The 28-year-old righty may not have the best expected stats, but his actual stats show great success as a recent starter. I expect Assad to have a solid, ratio-preserving start against the about-average Cardinals offense.

Alternative: Christian Scott (SP – NYM) @ATL | 6% Rostered

    Saturday, July 4

Brandon Young (SP – BAL) vs. CIN | 18% Rostered

Brandon Young has emerged as a shocking talent for the struggling Orioles. He has a shimmering 3.11 ERA on the season, with an unsightly 4.21 xERA. However, many low-velocity starters, such as him, consistently outperform their expected stats, which makes me believe more in Young.

The 27-year-old righty faces the Reds, who have the seventh-worst OPS in baseball (.699). As many of these streaming options go, here is a solid pitcher against a struggling team. Young earns bonus points as a second-year pitcher delivering strong results.

Alternative: Kumar Rocker (SP – TEX) vs. DET | 6% Rostered

    Sunday, July 5

Martin Perez (SP – ATL) vs. NYM | 13% Rostered

Martin Perez ends the week as a solid veteran against a Mets team with deep struggles. The Mets are 35-49 with a team OPS of .675, the second-worst in baseball.

The 35-year-old lefty is having a nice season. He has a 3.00 ERA (4.03 xERA) and a very high 49.3% groundball rate. Although Perez’s expected stats indicate some regression, his xERA has consistently been about a run over his real ERA throughout his career. Perez will not overpower batters with deadly pitches, but he is great at getting batters out.

Perez is a boring but steady option to end the week.

Alternative: Eric Lauer (SP – LAD) vs. SDP | 5% Rostered
