Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte said he lost $400,000 worth of items in a break-in at his Phoenix-area home during All-Star Game festivities.

Marte found out about the burglary last Tuesday before the All-Star Game; he went on the restricted list Friday and was reinstated Sunday.

“Everyone is clear that it’s not a situation that we can feel good about. I’m losing about $400,000, and I think that’s a lot,” Marte told reporters in Spanish after Sunday’s 5-3 win against the St. Louis Cardinals.

“It was a bit of a tough situation, but we came back here to try not to think about those things that have happened. It doesn’t feel good. Everyone knows what happened. And we’re hoping that things are remedied.”

Police last week said that no one was home at the time of the break-in and that there were signs of forced entry at the Paradise Valley, Ariz., house. Police said that numerous personal items and jewelry were missing.

The Scottsdale Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for an update on the situation.

The break-in is the latest in a string of burglaries targeting professional athletes, particularly when those athletes are away competing. Other recent burglaries include Mike Conley Jr., Karl-Anthony Towns, Luka Dončić and Bobby Portis in the NBA, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Joe Burrow and Linval Joseph in the NFL and Tyler Seguin and Evgeni Malkin in the NHL.

The Athletic‘s Maria Torres contributed reporting.
