Tuesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Jacob deGrom (TEX) vs. ATH
Jacob deGrom is having a sensational season and is in good form. According to FanGraphs, he’s had the following stats in his previous four starts spanning 24 innings.

He doesn’t have a cupcake matchup, but deGrom’s matchup is middle of the pack. The Athletics are tied for 13th in wRC+ (103) with a 22.3 K% versus righties and 13th in wRC+ (98) with a 23.3 K% on the road in 2025. They were also tied for 15th in wRC+ (99) with a 26.2 K% in the previous 30 days. Thus, the Rangers are -250 favorites, and the game’s total is a non-threatening 8.0 runs.
Logan Gilbert (SEA) vs. MIL
Logan Gilbert is a beast at home. In 136.2 innings at home since last season, Gilbert has had a 2.44 ERA, 2.60 xFIP, 0.80 WHIP, 4.4 BB% and 32.2 K%. The righty’s 4.56 ERA in his previous five starts spanning 25.2 innings might provide a pause for some gamers considering him tonight, but his 3.29 xFIP and 3.15 SIERA suggest he was unlucky.
Gilbert’s matchup is admittedly challenging tonight. The Brewers are tied for 15th in wRC+ (102) with a 20.7 K% versus righties and fifth in wRC+ (109) with a 20.1 K% on the road this season. Nevertheless, the Mariners are -125, and the game’s total is 7.0 runs.
Max Scherzer (TOR) vs. NYY
Max Scherzer has a brutal matchup. The Yankees are tied for first in wRC+ (120) with a 22.4 K% versus righties and second in wRC+ (120) with a 23.4 K% on the road this year. New York was also tied for third in wRC+ (124) with a 21.6 K% in the previous 30 days. It’s too risky to use a pitcher against them in cash games.
However, Scherzer has pitched well enough since returning from the Injured List (IL) in June to warrant consideration in GPPs. In his last four starts spanning 20 innings, Scherzer has had the following stats.

Mad Max’s numbers weren’t sterling, but his strikeout rate and ERA estimators were stellar. Finally, the Blue Jays are -130 favorites, albeit the game’s total is a somewhat alarming 9.0 runs.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
Rich Hill has been tattooed for a 5.36 ERA and 5.05 xFIP in nine starts in Triple-A this season after making only four relief appearances in the Majors last year. The veteran lefty had a 5.41 ERA, 5.66 xERA and 4.77 xFIP in 32 appearances (27 starts) in The Show in 2023. That season, he coughed up a .341 wOBA to 128 left-handed batters and a .363 wOBA to 532 right-handed batters. Therefore, the Cubs are in a prime position to light up the scoreboard tonight.
Davis Martin is making his first start off the IL after last starting for the White Sox on June 12. In addition to possibly having rust to shake off, Martin is due for massive regression. His 3.79 ERA in 14 appearances (13 starts) this year is much lower than his 5.48 xERA, 4.31 xFIP and 4.40 SIERA. As a result, Tampa Bay is an intriguing stacking option tonight.

- Seiya Suzuki has ripped 15 round-trippers with a .376 OBP, .204 ISO and 139 wRC+ in 426 plate appearances against southpaws since 2023.
- Jonathan Aranda has hit 11 homers with a .394 OBP, .198 ISO, .392 wOBA and 154 wRC+ in 287 plate appearances against right-handed pitching this season.
- Carson Kelly is much more appealing on DraftKings than FanDuel since a catcher is required at the former. He has had a .351 OBP, .156 ISO and 116 wRC+ in 171 plate appearances against lefties since 2023.
Value Plays/Punts
- Nico Hoerner has recorded a .367 OBP, .122 ISO and 128 wRC+ in 412 plate appearances against lefties since 2023. The middle infielder is also a stolen-base threat, swiping 17 this season. Conversely, Hill allowed 25 stolen bases in 32 appearances (27 starts) in 2023 and one in four relief appearances last season.
- Cam Smith has mashed four taters with a .412 OBP, .288 ISO and 185 wRC+ in 68 plate appearances against lefties in his rookie season.
- Dansby Swanson has hit 16 homers with a .343 OBP, .197 ISO and 124 wRC+ in 385 plate appearances against lefties since 2023.

Junior Caminero (3B, DH – SF): 6.5 Fantasy Points – Higher
Junior Caminero has taken a step forward at the plate in his age-21 season. He has hit 25 homers with 57 runs, 65 RBIs, five stolen bases, a .299 OBP, .254 ISO, .343 wOBA, .333 xwOBA and 121 wRC+ in 402 plate appearances this season. Conversely, Martin has a reverse platoon split, coughing up a .345 wOBA to 199 right-handed batters this season.
Seiya Suzuki (OF, DH – CHC): 8.5 Fantasy Points – Higher
Suzuki is tearing the cover off the ball this season. He has hit 26 homers with 54 runs, 80 RBIs, two stolen bases, a .314 OBP, .281 ISO, .360 wOBA, .365 xwOBA and 134 wRC+ in 423 plate appearances this season.
Addison Barger (3B, OF – TOR): 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs – Higher
Addison Barger has broken out in his second season in the Majors. He has 70 hits, 41 runs, 42 RBIs, a .271 batting average, .285 xBA, .519 SLG, .536 xSLG and .248 ISO in 279 plate appearances. The left-handed-hitting Barger has excelled with the platoon advantage, cracking 61 hits with a .288 batting average, .338 OBP, .561 SLG and .274 ISO in 229 plate appearances against righties.
