It looks like UFC boss Dana White will be meeting with Conor McGregor soon.
Today marks a whopping 1,475 days since we last saw Conor McGregor in the Octagon. The UFC superstar’s last fight came against the recently retired Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021, where McGregor broke his leg at the end of the opening round.
McGregor tried to come back in a main event booking against Michael Chandler last summer at UFC 303 but the Irishman had to withdraw due to a broken toe injury, prolonging his return.
Amid political aspirations to be president of Ireland, McGregor has teased his next fight on many occasions, most recently campaigning for a matchup at the UFC’s White House card next summer.
Ahead of his potential return, McGregor sent Dana White a gift.

UFC CEO Dana White responds to Conor McGregor
On Thursday, White shared a video of him holding a gift McGregor had sent him—a box of his own ‘Notorious Cigars’ line.
“Thank you @thenotoriousmma,” White wrote on his Instagram story.
“See you in Italy,” White added, confirming a meeting with McGregor.
Despite recent claims, McGregor has yet to re-enter the drug testing pool, which he needs to be eligible to fight again.
If McGregor were to return, the White House might be prime real estate for the superstar’s long-awaited return to the sport.
Who will Conor McGregor face in his comeback fight?
Should the day ever come, McGregor has quite a few options for his return fight.
While he’s not currently under UFC contract, longtime rival and free agent Nate Diaz is one of the most enticing storylines for McGregor at this stage.
McGregor and Diaz are 1-1 in their series and a trilogy fight never took place when Diaz was still in the UFC. Stockton’s Diaz left the promotion after completing his contract against Tony Ferguson at UFC 279.
Michael Chandler is a less of a marquee name than Diaz, but the former Bellator champion has waited more than a few turns to fight McGregor. Chandler is pretty patriotic as well, so it would make sense for the Missouri native to fight McGregor at the White House of all places.
