Daniel Cormier has cleared the air on Jon Jones’ latest social media rant.
Over the weekend, retired two-division UFC champion Jon Jones went on a tirade towards Daniel Cormier after his biggest rival made an appearance on the UFC 318 weigh-in show.
On the show, Cormier was asked if he could fight anyone, anywhere, who would it be. Cormier answered with his house as the location and didn’t give a name. His co-host Dan Hellie asked if it rhymed with ‘Mon Mones’ because of his history with Jones.
Cormier laughed it off, but Jones seemed to think it was him Cormier was referring to.
Jones claimed he was the ‘most painful thing that ever happened’ to Cormier’s life, saying he had buried him twice in the Octagon and that he would get a shovel a third time.
Cormier refutes Jones’ claims in a new video.

Daniel Cormier responds to Jon Jones claiming the ‘most pain’ over him: ‘Lost a child’
It’s been nearly a decade since Jones and Cormier shared the Octagon together.
Their rematch at UFC 214 in 2017 was ruled a no-contest after Jones tested positive for the steroid Turinabol. It was initially a TKO stoppage for Jones, who caught Cormier with a head kick and punches.
Cormier responds to Jones saying his losses left him with ‘more than bruises’.
“Yeah, it did suck to lose,” Cormier said on his YouTube channel.
“I can admit that. I’m a man.
“It sucked to lose. And it hurt a lot more in 2017.
“It doesn’t hurt today,” Cormier continued.
“That’s eight years past. I’m not stuck on that.
“Also, you can’t say that you’re the most painful thing that’s happened in a person’s life when they’ve lost a child,” Cormier added.
“That’s the craziest thing in the world. You say I’m the most painful thing that’s happened in a person’s life when they’ve lost a child or their father got murdered. But, again, he knows that. But that’s why you know you’re dealing with a different type of human being…”
Cormier’s three-month-old daughter died in a car accident in 2003. Cormier’s father was murdered on Thanksgiving day in 1986.
Daniel Cormier tells Jon Jones to ‘get off my page’
Cormier has had enough of his rivalry with Jon Jones.
Cormier worked as a broadcaster for Jones’ final two fights at heavyweight, which he didn’t seem to have a problem with.
Regarding Jones’ comments about hurting his life the most, Cormier says his former foe should just stay away from him at this point.
“Somebody tell Jon Jones get off my page, man,” Cormier concluded his video.
“Like, dang, what is he doing?
“Watching what I do?
“Come on, Jon,” Cormier said of his two-time rival.
