Everyone loves to make fantasy football trades. Therefore, I’m here to give some early fantasy trade advice heading into Week 6. Let’s dive into some players you should buy or sell following this past week’s games.

Early Fantasy Football Trade Advice for Week 6

    Players to Buy

    Matthew Stafford (QB – LAR)

After a poor Week 1 performance, Stafford has been one of the better fantasy quarterbacks this season. The future Hall of Famer has averaged 314.5 passing yards, 2.5 touchdowns, and 21 fantasy points per game over the past month. More importantly, the veteran quarterback has been on fire lately, completing 67.1% of his pass attempts for 382 yards, three touchdowns, and 26.5 fantasy points per game over the past two weeks. Stafford has an excellent upcoming schedule, including a matchup against a depleted Baltimore Ravens defense in Week 6.

    Rico Dowdle (RB – CAR)

Hopefully, Chuba Hubbard’s calf injury isn’t severe. However, the Panthers are in great shape without their starting running back, as Dowdle was spectacular in Week 5. He had 23 rushing attempts for 206 yards, a touchdown, and 32.4 PPR fantasy points against the Miami Dolphins. Fantasy players with Hubbard should make acquiring Dowdle their top priority. Yet, non-Hubbard owners should also trade for Dowdle. If he continues to start for Carolina, Dowdle has an outstanding upcoming schedule, facing the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets over the next two weeks.

    Tetairoa McMillan (WR – CAR)

While Xavier Legette and Mitchell Evans caught Bryce Young’s two passing touchdowns against the Miami Dolphins, McMillan continues to be his go-to target. The former Arizona star had eight targets, twice as many as anyone else on the team. Furthermore, the rest of Carolina’s wide receiver core had 10 targets in Week 5. McMillan’s 29.6% target share and 36.9% receiving yards share led the team for the fifth consecutive game. Once he starts to connect with Young in the end zone, McMillan will produce as a top-15 wide receiver.

    David Njoku (TE – CLE)

The change at quarterback from Joe Flacco to Dillon Gabriel might have turned Njoku’s fantasy season around. He averaged 3.5 receptions on 5.3 targets for 32 receiving yards and 6.7 PPR fantasy points per game with Flacco, scoring nine or fewer in every contest. Meanwhile, the veteran had six receptions on nine targets for 67 receiving yards, a touchdown, and 18.7 fantasy points on Sunday, leading the team in every category. Furthermore, Njoku had as many targets (nine) as Jerry Jeudy (five) and Harold Fannin Jr. (four) combined.

    Players to Sell

    C.J. Stroud (QB – HOU)

Houston’s passing attack has looked significantly better the past two weeks. Unfortunately, Stroud has faced the Tennessee Titans and the injury-plagued Baltimore Ravens, completing 81.8% of his pass attempts for 238.5 yards, three touchdowns, and 23.6 fantasy points per game, totaling at least two scores and 18.4 fantasy points in both contests. By comparison, he had only two passing touchdowns and 31.1 total fantasy points over the first three weeks. The Texans have their bye in Week 6 before facing a stretch of talented defenses. Sell high while you can.

    Nick Chubb (RB – HOU)

All the waiver wire talk last week was about Woody Marks. However, the rookie had a quiet performance in Week 5, totaling only 2.4 PPR fantasy points. Meanwhile, Chubb finished with 12.1 fantasy points in the win over the Baltimore Ravens. Yet, the veteran had 11 rushing attempts compared to seven for the rookie. Chubb has averaged only 11.6 rushing attempts and 9.7 fantasy points per game this season, needing a touchdown to score more than 8.2 in any contest. Furthermore, Houston’s schedule is awful following their Week 6 bye.

    Josh Downs (WR – IND)

Downs had his best performance this year in Week 5. He had six receptions on eight targets for 54 receiving yards and 11.4 PPR fantasy points. Yet, fantasy players should sell high while they can. Downs has averaged only 4.8 targets and 6.5 fantasy points per game in the other four matchups, totaling five and 6.4 or fewer in all but one of those contests. More importantly, Tyler Warren and Michael Pittman Jr. combined for 10 targets. By comparison, they averaged 14 targets per game over the first four contests.

    Darren Waller (TE – MIA)

Last week, Waller had two receiving touchdowns on only four targets, scoring 17.7 PPR fantasy points against the New York Jets. He caught all five targets for 78 receiving yards and a touchdown over Miami’s first three drives on Sunday, totaling 18.8 fantasy points. However, Waller didn’t see the ball again the rest of the game. More importantly, he finished tied for third on the team in targets (five) with Julian Hill and Malik Washington. Furthermore, it’s only a matter of time until Waller misses time with an injury.
