CLEVELAND — Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo left Monday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers early with a left groin injury.
The Bucks announced that Antetokounmpo would not return due to the injury.
Antetokounmpo grabbed his groin as he lay on the floor after missing a shot at the rim over multiple Cavaliers defenders with a little more than three minutes remaining in the first half. Following the play, Antetokounmpo hobbled up the floor and committed a foul on Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley and immediately walked to the locker room.
Antetokounmpo had 14 points, five rebounds and four assists in 13 minutes. With his 13th point Monday, he passed Hall of Famer Walt Bellamy (20,941) for 42nd on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Hal Greer at No. 41 (21,586) and Larry Bird at No. 40 (21,791) are next up.
