Ultimately, the 31-year-old slumped to his first UFC defeat courtesy of a unanimous decision verdict from the cageside judges.

Paddy Pimblett’s wife shares post-fight pictures
Paddy Pimblett’s face was covered in cuts and bruises immediately after his fight at UFC 324.
On Tuesday, his wife, Laura Pimblett, shared pictures of her husband’s face three days on from his slugfest with Justin Gaethje.
“Forever proud of you. Love you so so much,” she captioned four pictures taken after UFC 324.
Pimblett is wearing sunglasses in two pictures, and in another, his back is facing the camera.
However, the fourth image showed his full face, which is a swollen mess following his first UFC loss.
It has since gone viral on social media, with fans commenting on Pimblett’s seemingly catastrophic injuries.
“OMG, he got worked,” one fan said. While another added: “The amount of damage he took was crazy. Why is no one blaming his striking coach?”
“Lmao Paddy’s face looking like it got run over by a truck, kissed by a freight train, then slapped by reality,” a third fan tweeted.
“Damn, his eyes look bad,” someone else commented.
“That fight will affect him the rest of his days,” another X user predicted.
“Those eye pokes were nasty. Kid deserves a rematch,” a sixth fan insisted.

Paddy Pimblett breaks his silence
On Tuesday evening, Paddy Pimblett issued a statement on social media reacting to his UFC 324 loss.
“Hope everyone enjoyed my fight just as much as I did, want to thank everyone that came to support and everyone watching at home,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I’m all good no injuries went into the fight feeling amazing had a great camp and an easy weight cut no excuses the better man won on the night @justin_gaethje congratulations brother it was an honour to share the cage with such a legend go get that undisputed title ur career deserves it.
“Hopefully we can run it back for the undisputed because I still know it’s in my destiny to win that gold! @ufc thank you for the opportunity yous all know I’ll be back for that belt in the near future.”
