Allycia Hellen Rodrigues defends atomweight Muay Thai crown against Phetjeeja at ONE Fight Night 41

The fight everyone wanted just got the green light. Two atomweight world champions finally collide under the bright lights.

ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues defends her crown against ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion Phetjeeja at ONE Fight Night 41 on Friday, March 13, inside Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium. The event broadcasts live in U.S. primetime on Amazon Prime Video, delivering a dream matchup that fans have been demanding since both women began dominating their respective divisions.

Rodrigues enters this defense riding serious momentum. The 27-year-old Brazilian mom-champ has won three straight since her lone promotional setback back in September 2023. Her most recent performance saw her destroy Sweden’s Johanna Persson with a third-round knockout at ONE Fight Night 33 last July. That finish earned her a $50,000 performance bonus and proved once again why she’s held this belt since 2020.

Before that, she stopped Ireland’s Marie McManamon via fourth-round technical knockout. The Phuket Fight Club representative captured her throne by dethroning Stamp Fairtex in her promotional debut back in August 2020. After taking time off for the birth of her first child, Rodrigues returned in March 2023 to unify the division’s gold against Janet “JT” Todd.

Rodrigues has built her reign on devastating clinch work and relentless pressure. Her experience facing the best strikers in the world prepared her for moments like this. She’s defended her crown three times against elite opposition and shown zero signs of slowing down. This fight represents her biggest challenge yet.

Phetjeeja brings perfect record into champion versus champion showdown

Phetjeeja enters this title fight carrying an unblemished 8-0 promotional record. The 24-year-old Thai striker is the reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion, having defeated legendary striker Anissa “C18” Meksen for the interim title in December 2023. She unified the gold against Todd three months later in a performance that announced her arrival among the elite.

“The Queen” recently returned to her Muay Thai roots at ONE Fight Night 38 last December. She demolished Poland’s Martyna Dominczak via first-round technical knockout in a performance that reminded everyone why she’s so dangerous in 4-ounce gloves. That finish showcased the punching power and technical precision that’s made her one of ONE Championship’s most feared competitors.

Phetjeeja’s journey began at age 7 when her father built Or Mee Khun gym after no other facilities would train females. By age 10, she had compiled over 100 fights, with 70 coming against boys. That earned her the nickname “The Girl Who Could Defeat Boys” long before she became WMC Muay Thai World Champion at just 14 years old.

The Team Mehdi Zatout affiliate has been chasing this fight for months. After defeating Kana Morimoto, she called out Rodrigues directly. After destroying Dominczak, she made her intentions even clearer. She wants that Muay Thai gold to complete her two-sport championship dream. Rodrigues standing in her way only adds fuel to the fire.

This matchup pits Rodrigues’ championship experience and power against Phetjeeja’s striking perfection and elite technical skills. The Brazilian has faced every type of challenge during her five-year reign. The Thai phenom has never tasted defeat inside the Circle. Something has to give when they meet in March.
