FORMER Premier League icon David Dunn’s son has signed his first professional contract.
Youngster Isaac Dunn has put pen to paper on his first senior deal at Blackburn Rovers.

He is still only 17-years-old but is already following in his father’s footsteps, who made 378 appearances for Rovers across two spells.
Dunn has signed a two-and-a-half year contract, with the option of a further year.
The midfielder has been at the club since he was six and featured on the bench for four first-team fixtures in January 2025, aged 16.
Dunn said after signing his deal: “Obviously since I was a kid it’s always been my dream to sign a professional contract at this club,” said the cultured left-footed midfielder, who set up both goals in Rovers’ FA Youth Cup fifth round triumph over Swansea City earlier this month.

“To say that I had a season ticket in the Blackburn End a couple of years ago, to get to this moment, it’s great and I’m buzzing to sign.
“I’ve been here since I was six, so it’s been a long journey. I’ve been here for over 10 years now. I’ve come all the way through the age groups, there’s been a lot of ups and downs, but I’m delighted to get to this moment and sign my first professional contract.
“When I was nine years of age, I was told that I would play down an age group, because I wasn’t physically developed, but in the long run I think that’s helped me a lot physically and when I was 13 I was moved back up and I’ve kicked on from then.
“Now I’m with the Under-18s and the Under-21s, and I also featured in the first team a bit last season.

“Personally, the last 18 months have probably been the best I’ve had in my career and this moment probably stands out. To get my first professional contract, for a club like Blackburn Rovers, the team that I support, it’s massive for me.
“Given my family history, it’s in our DNA really. For me, it’s a massive step towards maybe getting that first appearance in the first team hopefully and to follow in my dad’s footsteps would be a dream.
“He’s someone I look up to and he gives me advice about football all the time and if I can be half as good as him, I might have a good career!
“I’ve looked up to him since I was a young lad and it’s always been my dream to play at Ewood Park, ever since I was a kid, so to do what he’s done in his career I would be delighted with.
“We’ve both got the same passion for the game and especially for this club. When I’m playing, he’s not really too pushy about me, he just gives me good advice and I’m really grateful for that.
“My dream has always been to play for my boyhood club and I’d really love to do that. Following in my dad’s footsteps, it would be a dream come true.”
