Let’s take a look at the fantasy football implications of the Seattle Seahawks re-signing free agent wide receiver Rashid Shaheed.

Fantasy Football Impact | Seahawks Re-Sign Rashid Shaheed

Rashid Shaheed returns to Seattle on a three-year deal to fill out their wide receiver depth chart. Last year, Shaheed began the year with New Orleans as the WR38 in fantasy points per game (Weeks 1-9), seeing a 21% target share and 23.4% first-read share as he churned out 55.4 receiving yards per game and 1.75 yards per route run (per Fantasy Points Data). He was on his way to a solid statistical season.

Unfortunately for Shaheed, he was sent packing to Seattle and wasn’t installed as a “full-time” wide receiver until Week 11. I use the dreaded air quotes because even when Shaheed was a starter for Seattle, he wasn’t an every-down player. In Weeks 11-18, he surpassed 57% of the snaps only once while averaging only 1.8 receptions and 13.2 receiving yards per game. During that span, he was the WR72 in fantasy points per game with a 62% route share, an 8.8% target share, and a 12.2% first-read share.

Hopefully, with a full offseason and a fresh contract in his back pocket, he can become the second option in Seattle’s passing attack, but that isn’t a certainty. With Cooper Kupp and A.J. Barner competing with Shaheed in 2026 for targets and Seattle’s run-centric nature, I’ll be avoiding Shaheed in the later rounds of redraft fantasy formats. He’s a last-round option in best ball, only.
