Jon Jones insists arthritis ‘doesn’t make you cripple’
Jon Jones has allowed people to speculate about his ability to fight for the past several weeks.
The 38-year-old felt compelled to share his thoughts on the debate via X – formerly known as Twitter.
On Friday, Jones told the people gossiping about him that he remains a very dangerous individual.
“Random thought: Arthritis hurts, it doesn’t make you cripple,” he tweeted.
“I’m still smashing 99.47% of you out there.”
It’s currently unclear if Jones will fight again after being left off the UFC White House card.
Dana White believes Jon Jones is retired
Jon Jones initially retired in June 2025 before completing a U-turn when the UFC announced it would host an event at the White House.
Dana White always insisted ‘Bones’ would not be a part of the once-in-a-lifetime MMA event.
Still, it came as a surprise to many when Jones failed to make the cut for the June 14 card.
“Never ever, which I told you, guys, 100,000 times, was Jon Jones remotely in my mind to fight at the White House,” White said following UFC 326 earlier this month.
“First of all, I’ve told you why I wouldn’t do it. And number two, some guy with Meta glasses filmed him talking about his hips, that his hips are so bad. I don’t know if you saw that flag football game where he could barely run. Jon Jones, he retired because of his hips. The doctors say he should have a hip replacement.
White was then asked if it’s fair to say Jones is retired, and this is the end of his UFC career.
“Yes. Very fair,” he replied.
