If you’re a Vikings fan, you likely want to forget that the 2025 NFL season even happened. You also may want to go back and rethink that J.J. McCarthy pick in the first round if you’re Kevin O’Connell. But the past is the past, and the future is now.
Fortunately for Minnesota, the QB market blessed them with Kyler Murray, who had a messy breakup with the Arizona Cardinals this offseason. But Murray gets a chance to reinvent himself with the Vikings while the team has some renewed optimism on offense.

Matt Harmon and Scott Pianowski discussed Murray and the Vikings’ situation for fantasy football on a recent episode of the Yahoo Fantasy Forecast.
Pianowski views the Vikings as a “sleeping giant” going into 2026. He’s talking himself into all these positive Minnesota narratives — possibly winning the NFC North and Murray winning Comeback Player of the Year, specifically. Scott asks Harmon to keep him grounded.
Harmon thinks Murray is a lock to start Week 1 for the Vikings. But does he play well enough to start past this season? Harmon doesn’t view Murray as the perfect fit at QB for the O’Connell offense but thinks that the head coach can adjust to Murray’s skill set.

Murray only appeared in five games for Arizona last season, throwing for 962 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions while rushing for 173 yards and a score. With Murray in town, Harmon is only really interested in drafting WR Justin Jefferson, who is coming off his worst season in the NFL and for fantasy.
After being a consensus, no-doubt first-round pick in 2025 for fantasy, Jefferson finished as the WR39 in fantasy points per game (9.1), one of the bigger fantasy busts in recent memory. He had 84 catches for just over 1,000 yards and two TDs over a full 17 games.
Will the addition of Murray revive Jefferson’s fantasy stock in 2026?
