UFC interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje has taken a look back at his recent blockbuster victory over Paddy Pimblett.

In his last fight, Justin Gaethje defeated Paddy Pimblett in a pretty decisive manner to become the new UFC interim lightweight champion. His reward for that will be an undisputed title showdown in the main event of UFC Freedom 250, where he will take on reigning champ Ilia Topuria.

While a lot of people felt like Pimblett would be able to cause Gaethje problems, the Liverpudlian perhaps spent a bit too much time on the feet and not enough time trying to make an impact on the ground.

In a recent interview, Gaethje opened up on the win over Pimblett and what he would have done differently if given another chance.

“I was really happy with my performance,” he said on the Out Cold podcast.

“I wish I had D’Arce choked his ass when I had him in the front headlock position for the last time.

“Maybe in the fourth round, he was tired and exhausted, and I could’ve gotten him.

“I could have surprised the world, but I wanted to keep punching him.”

There’s no denying that Justin put on a real show against Pimblett, as he always tends to do in fights where people think he doesn’t really have a shot. Either way, though, he has what many consider to be a much bigger task ahead of him, and he will need to be at his absolute best if he is going to overcome Topuria.

Do you believe that Justin Gaethje has what it takes to win the UFC world title? If so, how is he going to get the job done at the White House? Let us know your thoughts on this in the comments below, BJPENN Nation!
