It’s July, and you know what that means! Less than two months until we’re done with this summer that’s been devoid of any kind of Football. It’s time to start thinking fantasy and preparing for drafts. The biggest single thing you can do to improve your outlook in fantasy is show up to your draft with a good set of rankings. But what rankings are good? Which are the most accurate fantasy football draft rankings?

That’s what we’re here to find out. Every year, more than 200 of the fantasy industry’s best and brightest submit draft rankings for our competition. With the 2026 season on the horizon, it’s time to look back at 2025 rankings to see who was the most accurate, and therefore who we should consider listening to this year.

    Methodology

If you want all the details on how we measure accuracy, check out our evergreen methodology page. I’ll give you the short version. It happens in four steps:

    1. Collect rankings. For this contest, we use each expert’s final preseason rankings, frozen right at the start of the 2025 season. We measure accuracy for each position separately, and then combine QB+RB+WR+TE to determine the overall leaderboard.
    2. Determine the player pool. For each position, we define a cutoff rank (25 for QBs, 50 for RBs, and so on). We include any player who was above that cutoff in preseason ECR or in final standings. As a result, the number of players for each position is a bit bigger than those ranks, because there will inevitably be some running backs ranked in the preseason top 50 who bust, and breakout players who were low-ranked in the preseason but finished in the top 50.
    3. Score the experts’ predictions. We use a rank-points template to interpret expert rankings as predictions, and compare them to final results. This gives us a lower-is-better “error” score for each player that captures the fact that the difference between rank 5 and rank 10 is much bigger than the difference between rank 55 and rank 60. This error score is, by definition, zero if the expert predicted the player’s final rank exactly.
    4. Aggregate – we first combine the errors for each player in a given position to determine the leaderboards for each position. We then combine the scores for QB, RB, WR and TE to get overall scores for each expert. There is no special weighting when we combine positions – the relative importance of each position is determined by the size of the player pool. So while QB and TE do matter, WR and RB have a bigger impact on the overall standings because there are simply more relevant players at those positions.

    Top 10 Overall Draft Experts

Without further ado, here are the experts who had the most accurate fantasy football draft rankings in 2025! To see the full leaderboard of all 212 experts who qualified, see our dedicated results page.

Congratulations to Seth Miller of Crossroads Fantasy Football for producing the most accurate draft rankings of the 2025 season! He did this by being the #1 expert for wide receivers – the position with the biggest impact on overall accuracy due to the larger player pool. His best takes included ranking George Pickens, Cortland Sutton and Jaylen Waddle a fair bit higher than the consensus, while fading Malik Nabers, Tyreek Hill and Travis Hunter. He also achieved the #2 spot for quarterbacks, making him one of on two experts to rank in the top 10 at two different positions. There he smartly ranked Justin Herbert well above the consensus, and earned points for being correctly lukewarm on Michael Penix Jr. and Brock Purdy. This brings him to 28th in multi-year accuracy, higher than 82% of qualified experts.

Our second-place winner is Guilherme Gianni of Fantasy Futebolista! Guilherme was one of only two experts to finish in the top-20 at 3 different positions – in his case QB, RB and WR. That includes a top-5 result at the most important position in fantasy – running backs. He was one of the experts to correctly identify that Ashton Jeanty – talented as he is – should not have been a first-round pick as a rookie on the Raiders. But the true genius of his rankings is more subtle – there are multiple spots where he differed from the consensus by a few ranks in a way that would make a big impact. For example, ECR ranked CeeDee Lamb as the WR2 and Amon-Ra St. Brown as the WR6, whereas Gianni had Lamb a few spots lower at WR2 and St. Brown at WR3. Lamb was not a huge bust, but finished below first-round expectations – he was the WR18. But if you followed Gianni’s advice and took St. Brown over Lamb with your first-round pick, you’d be rewarded with the WR3.

Rounding out the podium we have Michael Bobal from The 33rd Team! Michael also gave his best performance at running back, where he finished third. He crucially ranked Christian McCaffrey as the #1 running back, and he did actually finish at #1, while ECR had him down at 4th. Bobal also performed very well at QB and WR, which added up to an overall score better than 209/212 other experts.

    Most Accurate Experts By Position

The overall leaderboard is important, but we also like to recognize the winners at each individual position – especially DST, K and IDP, since those don’t factor into the overall leaderboard.

Brandon Murchison from Rotoballer was our #1 expert for D/ST, possibly the hardest position to predict. He correctly ranked the Rams and Steelers in the top 10 – where they finished – while ECR would have had you leave them on the draft board.

Ben Wasley from The Fantasy First Down produced the most accurate Kicker rankings for 2025. His best calls included ranking Will Reichard in the top 5 while ECR had him 15th (he finished 6), and fading Harrison Butker at 19, who ECR had at 8th (finished 14th).

I’m running out of things to say about MasterIDP, a.k.a. Leo from RPO Football. This was his fourth year competing in both the draft and in-season accuracy contests. He started off on the wrong foot, with a 3rd-place finish for draft rankings in 2023. But he quickly corrected that – he has finished in first place every single time since. That’s 3 consecutive years as the #1 expert for IDP draft rankings, and 4 straight first-place finishes for in-season accuracy. That’s 7 wins in 8 opportunities. Sure, fewer experts submit IDP rankings than offensive positions, but it’s not nobody. 30 experts qualified this year, and Leo is not the only mainstay of the top of the leaderboards – Muntradamus and Ben Wasley were hot on his heels, finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively for IDP this year.

    Multi-Year Accuracy

Last year’s results are news, but if you want to know who to listen to in the future, it’s worth paying attention to which experts are consistently accurate over multiple years. To that end, we track multi-year accuracy using a rolling 3-year window. Here are your top 10 most accurate experts over the past 3 seasons:

This concludes the presentation of draft rankings accuracy results from the 2025 season. Happy drafting!
