The 2026 Open Championship marks the 154th edition of this major. 156 golfers descend upon Royal Birkdale Golf Course in Southport, England, running along a stretch of England’s northwestern Merseyside coastline against the Irish Sea.

As a result, this par 70 has massive dunes throughout, creating thin fairways and elevated greens. Tee-to-green accuracy is key, with fescue punishing errant lies and coastal winds playing a major defense in tandem with England’s notorious pot bunkers. It runs just over 7,200 yards, with restoration on several holes since last hosting this major during Jordan Spieth’s win in 2017.

My PGA DFS Lineup Advice: Top Golfers (2026 Genesis Scottish Open) had 4 of 6 golfers post T21 finishes or better at The Renaissance Club. Adam Scott’s T66 and Harry Hall’s missed cut were the only blemishes on an otherwise strong outing, with Matt Fitzpatrick carding a T3 finish and Patrick Reed and Wyndham Clark each logging T13 finishes in Scotland.

I’ve built the ideal, high-value DraftKings DFS lineup to tail ahead of Round 1 teeing off as early as 1:35 a.m. ET on Thursday morning. Let’s dive into each of these golfers to justify their value and return on investment.

PGA DFS: Top Golfers (2026 Open Championship)

    DraftKings Salary: $50,000

    TIER 1

    Golfer

    DK $

    Matt Fitzpatrick $10,000
    Justin Rose $9,100

Matt Fitzpatrick leads the PGA Tour in SG: Approach entering the Open Championship. He’s logged three outright wins and has three top 5 finishes in his last four events played, including at The Renaissance Club links course in Scotland on Sunday.

Justin Rose returns to Royal Birkdale, where he recorded an impressive top 5 finish during his debut in this major in 1998. Now a grizzled veteran, the Englishman posted a win at the Farmers Insurance Open this season, while also carding T11 finishes or better in all three majors this season. Ranks 16th in SG: Approach and 19th in total driving.

    TIER 2

    Golfer

    DK $

    Wyndham Clark $8,200
    Robert MacIntyre $8,000

In Tier 2, we’re able to roster the PGA Tour’s leading golfer in putting average with Wyndham Clark at $8.2K. Clark has been red-hot with the flat stick, helping him secure two wins this year, including his second major win at the U.S. Open. Clark is ranked 17th in SG: Approach and has T4 and T13 finishes in his last two links course appearances.

Robert MacIntyre hasn’t had as good a year as his 2025 campaign. However, the Scotsman has fared well in six outings at the Open Championship, posting three top 10 finishes, including a T7 at Royal Portrush in 2025. MacIntyre ranks 20th in SG: Off-the-Tee and 9th in SG: Putting in 2026, which extends to fourth in putting average and 12th in putts per round.

    TIER 3

    Golfer

    DK $

    Russell Henley $7,700
    Patrick Reed $7,000

Russell Henley’s coming off consecutive T10 finishes at this major. The Georgia native had an improbable win at the Charles Schwab Challenge with a late charge, along with a T12 in his last outing at the Travelers Championship. Ranks 19th in total strokes gained, third in scrambling, and leads the PGA Tour in driving accuracy.

Patrick Reed is our anchor in this lineup at $7K. He possesses a phenomenal short game, which he’s leveraged for three T13 finishes in just four events played due to an imposed suspension for returning from LIV. Reed’s T13 at the Scottish Open is encouraging, so at such a cheap salary, let’s continue to back the nine-time PGA Tour winner and major champion.
