Turki Alalshikh has made another move in his U.S. expansion plans after losing the proposed Jarrell Miller vs. Michael Hunter fight and instead rolling out a brand-new prospect-driven concept called ‘The Underdog.’

The launch event takes place at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on September 11, falling right in the middle of Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford fight week, ensuring a prime showcase for rising talent on American soil.

“The Ring is proud to present a premier fight series, ‘The Underdog,’ showcasing boxing’s brightest prospects and contenders,” Turki announced, promising a card designed to highlight fighters on the cusp of breaking into world-level.

    The inaugural Underdog lineup

Anthony Olascuaga vs. Juan Carlos Camacho Jr.

    Justin Viloria vs. Joshafat Ortiz

    Jalil Hackett vs. Elijah Vines

    Emiliano Alvarado vs. Juan Garcia

    Damar Talley vs. Isaiah Thompson

    Riyadh Season vision

The move signals a clear shift from big-name heavyweight rebuilds to developing the next wave of stars under the Saudi-backed Riyadh Season banner.

Alalshikh has repeatedly stated his desire to invest in boxing from the grassroots up, giving young fighters the kind of spotlight that has traditionally been reserved for main events.

By attaching the series to one of the most high-profile weeks in recent boxing history, he ensures the format gets maximum visibility.

With Miller vs. Hunter off the table, questions remain about where those heavyweights fit into future Riyadh Season plans.

For now, however, “The Underdog” has the floor, promising a fresh approach in Las Vegas—a city that has built its reputation on underdogs rising to the occasion.
