Following his impressive win on MVP MMA’s debut event, Namo Fazil revealed he will fight under the UFC banner next.
This past Saturday, MVP MMA hosted the first ever MMA event live on Netflix, headlined by Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano.
Not only was it a big event involving some of the biggest names in the sport, including Francis Ngannou and Nate Diaz, but it was also a chance for some up-and-coming fighters to highlight themselves.
And one fighter who did a good job at that throughout fight week and fight night, was Namo Fazil, who stole headlines in the week for starting a feud with UFC star Arman Tsarukyan.
Namo Fazil to fight on Dana White’s Contender Series
Following his impressive second round submission win over Jake Babian, ‘Grandson of Saladin’ once again mentioned Arman Tsarukyan‘s name in his post-fight interview.
“Arman Tsarukyan, where are you at? We’ve got to talk, baby,” Fazil said.
‘Ahalkalakets’ was in the crowd after having coached his cousin David Mgoyan earlier in the night, and as Fazil made his way out of the cage and past the crowd, Tsarukyan attempted to jump the barrier to confront Fazil.
Despite being the promoter of the event, Jake Paul admitted that he was egging Fazil and Tsarukyan on, hoping that they were going to fight backstage.
And although MVP MMA were likely hoping to hold onto Fazil for their potential next event, following his fight he revealed that he will be fighting at Dana White’s Contender Series next, hoping to earn a UFC contract in front of Dana White.
“Right here, I’m here to take over,” Fazil said in a backstage interview with Syed Salman.
“By the way, I’ve got news, I’m actually gonna fight in the UFC soon, August 11 we coming, we’re taking over the UFC too… America f—– up letting me in because all these fighters are done.
“I don’t know who I’m fighting but they told me that I’m in, officially signed 100%… It’s gonna be Contender Series so I’ve got to show up again, I don’t have a problem, I’m gonna take my time,” he continued.

The popular UFC Tuesday night series begins on August 11 and will stream exclusively on Paramount+.
