TPC Craig Ranch is set to debut its new restorated look during this week’s CJ Cup Byron Nelson tournament. Located in McKinney, Texas, just north of Dallas, a pair of locals, Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth, are the betting favorites ahead of Round 1.

The main difference? Scheffler is a massive betting favorite at +165 in the outright winner market. Spieth has the third-shortest odds at +1600, while Si Woo Kim sits between them at +1500.

Expect the new zoysia grass fairways, trimmed TifTuf bermudagrass rough, and new bunker locations to be a bit of a test out of the gate for those in this field familiar with the previous layout of TPC Craig Ranch. It’s a par 71 that will tip just under 7,400 yards, while Scheffler looks to follow up his 72-hole course record (-31-under-par) with another wire-to-wire victory as the defending champion.

It was a rough outing for my PGA Championship DFS picks at Aronimink this past week. Ludvig Åberg turned in the best performance with a T4 finish from Tier 1. None of my other five picks cracked a top 20 finish, tanking our DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.

Let’s aim for a bounce-back at the newly renovated TPC Craig Ranch in a field largely lacking star power at the 2026 CJ Cup Byron Nelson. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more DFS picks and insight during the remainder of the PGA Tour season.

PGA DFS: Top Golfers (2026 CJ Cup Byron Nelson)

    DraftKings Salary: $50,000 | FanDuel Salary: $60,000

    TIER 1

    Golfer DK $ FD $
    Si Woo Kim $9,900 $11,900
    Davis Thompson $9,200 $10,400

Si Woo Kim is going to be a square play in DFS lineups this week. However, based on a recent lull, we’re getting the South Korean golfer at a fair price in Tier 1.

Kim’s a member at TPC Craig Ranch. This gives him a huge boost in terms of appeal, carding three straight top 20 finishes.

Despite T65-T35 finishes in his past two events, Kim still ranks top-20 in total strokes gained, SG: Approach, and SG: Off-the-Tee. He’s also seventh in proximity and third in driving accuracy, which is why Kim sits 10th in scoring average, 11th in birdie average, and sixth on par 4s.

A name flying under the radar this week is Davis Thompson. The young buck has gone T14-T13 in his past two solo events, while ranked 17th in SG: Approach.

Thompson’s putter is a liability this season. However, he’s ranked 15th at greens in regulation rate, 21st in proximity. and sixth in scrambling.

    TIER 2

    Golfer DK $ FD $
    Wyndham Clark $8,800 $10,500
    Kevin Roy $7,600 $9,300

Former U.S. Open winner Wyndham Clark is coming off a missed cut at the PGA Championship. However, he’s carded T21-T16 finishes before that outing, and now, Clark makes his debut at TPC Craig Ranch.

Even with struggles limiting Clark’s appearance on leaderboards this season, he sits 33rd in SG: Approach and 38th in total driving. Plus, he’s 22nd in putting average, leading to a top-20 mark in birdies per round (4.24). This bodes well for Clark at a birdie-fest like TPC Craig Ranch.

Kevin Roy just carded a T3 finish at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic. He’s got a good short game, ranked 19th in SG: Putting and 33rd in proximity.

Roy is 20th in scrambling and 19th in putting average, leading to 29th in birdie average. In 2025, Roy logged a T15 finish at TPC Craig Ranch, so plug him in for a high floor with the potential for a high ceiling performance.

    TIER 3

    Golfer DK $ FD $
    Mark Hubbard $7,200 $8,200
    Sam Ryder $7,200 $8,500

Mark Hubbard is another golfer who turned in a strong performance in Myrtle Beach a couple of weeks ago. The veteran is still seeking his first PGA Tour win, but he did log a solo runner-up finish.

Hubbard’s metrics don’t particularly dazzle. He is a quality iron player at times, though, while returning to a course that yielded a T5 finish in 2025

Sam Ryder is a huge value in Tier 3. He’s carded T21-T17 finishes in his last two solo events, and now, brings a hot putter (14th SG: Putting) and sharp irons (14th SG: Approach) into TPC Craig Ranch.

Ryder’s driver is the worst club in his bag. However, he’s 15th on par 4s and can grind out birdies with top-40 marks in all primary putting rankings.

Previous outings at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson have resulted in four straight missed cuts. It’s why Ryder is so cheap, but I’m willing to invest in his ceiling at this price.
