Bryce Mitchell has somehow suffered another significant bodily injury.

In 2025, Mitchell’s relationship with many fans changed massively due to some of the highly controversial comments that he made publicly.

While the backlash towards him reached its peak before Jean Silva submitted Mitchell in impressive fashion, the outspoken American remains on the promotion’s roster.

‘Thug Nasty’ is back in action this Saturday, but not before he suffered a freak injury as a result of laundry detergent, as he recently detailed.

Bryce Mitchell burned himself with laundry detergent after initially mistaking it for milk

In 2018, Bryce Mitchell suffered a harrowing injury when he made the mistake of placing a power drill into his pocket before it accidentally turned itself on.

The 31-year-old recently explained during his media day interview (posted by MMA Junkie) ahead of UFC Vegas 118 that he recently experienced another accidental and incredibly unique setback.

“It was accidental,” Mitchell responded when asked about an occurrence that happened several weeks ago. “What happened is I had some laundry detergent that got stuck in my shirt and I started doing a workout and that shirt and the laundry detergent got all on my skin and the suds were coming out of my shirt and I didn’t know what was happening. So, I kept training.”

The bantamweight went on to add that he and his friend started laughing as they thought this was him sweating out the gallon of milk that he’d recently drunk.

However, the way both Mitchell’s body and the liquid reacted quickly made him realize what was happening.

“Then it started getting bubbly and foamy and I was like, ‘No bro, that’s not milk. That’s soap.’ Then by that time we’d figured out it was soap, my nipples were already on fire and it actually literally just burned my nipples bad, man,” he continued. “So, make sure you be careful about what detergent you use because your nipples are sensitive to that type of stuff.”

Mitchell beat Said Nurmagomedov in his return to bantamweight last July and has only competed in several grappling matches since then.

On June 6, he faces surging undefeated contender Santiago Luna, who has recorded back-to-back wins since debuting inside the Octagon last September.
