Caitlin Clark Rookie Card Sets Record for Women’s Sports, Sells for $660,000

    • Caitlin Clark set another record for women’s sports as a signed Clark rookie card sold for $660,000.
    • The previous record was $366,000, which was another Clark rookie card.
    • There is another Clark card that could set the benchmark next month.

A signed Caitlin Clark rookie card has broken the record for women’s sports collectibles. The card sold for $660,000 in an auction, breaking the previous record, which was another Clark rookie card.

There is another Clark card that is currently in auction, and that could set a new standard for women’s sports.

Clark Card Eclipses Another CC Record, Selling for Almost Double

The card, a signed 2024 Panani WNBA Rookie Royalty one-of-one card was sold at an auction held by Fanatics Collect on July 24.

It sold for $660,000, which is almost double the old record for a women’s sports card. The previous mark was $366,000, which was set by a Clark 2024 Panini Prizm WNBA Signature rookie card. That sold in March at a Goldin Auctions event.

Clark is the most marketable women’s basketball player in the world, and even injuries in her sophomore season hasn’t slowed down her brand. The second-year guard for the Indiana Fever has missed 12 of her team’s 25 games this season with injuries to her quad and groin. But Clark was still named a captain for one of the All-Star teams, despite not playing in the game. She has led the WNBA in jersey sales since entering the league, and continues to do so.

The former Iowa standout and WNBA Rookie of the Year has fallen down the WNBA MVP odds, due to her injuries. But Clark continues to generate revenue, and her collectibles could set another mark next month!

Will Another Clark Card Break the Record Next Month?

It might not be long until another Clark rookie card breaks the current record! Her one-of-one Immaculate card, which is also signed, is currently set at $219,000 (including buyer’s premium) in another Goldin auction. The auction is scheduled to end on August 9, which means buyers have just over two more weeks to drive the price up.

A signed Clark WNBA Draft card went for $84,000 last September, and the market is only going to get hotter for Clark merchandise. If she can stay healthy and resume her success on the court, Clark’s collectibles are going to go through the roof. If these are the prices her merchandise gets in an injury-riddled year, imagine what will happen if Clark can stay healthy and lead the Fever to a title?
