The 2025 Fantasy Football season has come to a close, and it’s time to celebrate the victors. While you’re lifting those fantasy championship belts high, at FantasyPros we have another kind of champion to crown: experts. Start-sit decisions are a crucial part of winning in fantasy, and weekly rankings are the foundation of a sound start-sit strategy. There’s a whole industry of smart, hardworking people ranking players every week for us to benefit from, and it’s time to sort out who did it the best in 2025. Let’s look at the most accurate fantasy football experts of 2025.

- The Player Pool: To determine the set of players we look at each week, we set a rank threshold for each position (for example, the top 50 WRs), and include any player who finished above that rank, or was ranked above the threshold by ECR. That ensures that surprise busts and surprise studs are both included, but not lower-ranked players who are irrelevant in typical leagues.
- The Accuracy Metric: To evaluate a set of positional rankings, we assign each rank a value based on the six-week average fantasy points for players who finish at that rank. Then we calculate an “error” for each player by comparing the values of the expert’s rank and the player’s actual finish. We add together these errors to get a lower-is-better score for each expert at each position.
- Season-long Positional Accuracy: To calculate an expert’s accuracy for the season at a given position, we add together their scores for weeks 1-17, but we drop each expert’s worst week. The dropped week can be different for different positions.
- Overall Accuracy: To create our final leaderboard, we add together each expert’s scores for QB, RB, WR and TE. We also track positional accuracy for DST, K and IDP, but the overall leaderboard is based only on the core 4 offensive skill positions.

A huge congratulations is in order for Justin Boone from Yahoo Fantasy for finishing as our most accurate in-season ranker for 2025! This is his second win (2019), and can now boast an incredible nine top-10 finishes for in-season accuracy, on top of two top-10 finishes for draft rankings. This year he also earned the distinction of being the #1 ranker for Wide Receivers, and one of only two experts to finish in the top-10 at all three of QB, RB and WR.
Our second-place expert is a mainstay of these articles, Patrick Thorman from Establish the Run! Thorman is on an incredible run – this is his fourth consecutive year finishing in the top 4, including being our #1 expert in 2022. In 12 years of competing in a competition that always has well over 100 experts participating, Thorman has been a picture of consistency with 9 top-10 finishes, and has never placed lower than 24th. He joins Justin Boone as the only other expert to finish top-10 in three different positions (QB, RB and WR), including 2nd place for the two most important positions – RB and WR.
The bronze medal goes to Jamie Calandro from RotoBaller! Jamie is a daily fantasy expert, and that translates well to weekly redraft rankings. This is his second top-10 finish, and in a year full of surprises at quarterback, he was #1 in QB accuracy.

While our main leader board combines the core offensive positions, we like to highlight the experts who absolutely nailed individual positions. Here are your #1 most accurate experts at each position.
What more is there to say about MasterIDP, a.k.a Leo from RPO Football? He has the most apt name since Usain Bolt. Leo burst onto the IDP ranking scene in 2022 and has not taken his foot off the gas since. In the four in-season IDP accuracy competitions since, he finished in first place every single time. That’s in addition to first place for IDP draft rankings in both 2024 and 2023. We’ve reached the point where if you’re making IDP rankings, you’re not competing against the field – you’re competing against the master.
