Jake Paul took one comment from Gervonta Davis about his training camp to heart – and ended up working out like Rocky Balboa.
The infamous YouTuber-turned-boxing star will take on lightweight champion and top pound-for-pound fighter Davis next month. Despite being an exhibition, there will be judges deciding a winner for the bout that pits size vs skill in Miami.
And Paul is clearly taking the fight very seriously, allowing fans into his camp in a live streamed training session on Tuesday night. He underwent an intensive session after having sparred earlier in the day, trying out a stunt that saw him echoing the second Rocky movie.

Jake Paul chases chickens to channel Rocky Balboa for Gervonta Davis fight
During the initial launch of ‘Jake vs Tank’, Gervonta Davis told Jake Paul that he must be ‘chasing chickens’ in order to catch him. The silly workout idea is an old boxing tradition, dating back to before the days of major pay-per-view fights and made famous in Rocky 2.

Paul clearly liked the idea, utilizing his custom-built PFL Smart Cage to run after two chickens that had been brought in for what was something of a warm-down. He streamed the entire comical ordeal on his coach Dejuan Butler’s Twitch channel, although it didn’t go to plan.
Unfortunately, the chickens didn’t seem all that scared of Paul, and they seemed to sort of cower in the corner waiting for him to catch them. Eventually, he gave up on the idea and headed downstairs where he and Butler continued gruelling exercises under the eye of famed coach Larry Wade.
As November 14 approaches, Paul appears to be getting into top shape. He can weigh up to 200lb against ‘Tank’, whose career heaviest weigh-in didn’t even touch the 140lb limit.
