The 2026 NFL Combine is only a few weeks away, signaling that rookie draft season SZN is rapidly approaching. While many prospects’ draft stock and fantasy football projections will shift before the NFL Draft in late April based on NFL Combine testing and news, now is the optimal time for fantasy managers to prepare for their upcoming dynasty rookie drafts.
For this article, I’ve provided my initial run-through on this year’s rookie class. Hardly set in stone (he said feverishly before spending another hour tweaking rankings)…But I feel I have a good grasp on the tiers these rookies should generally be grouped into based on some early ADP and the FantasyPros expert consensus rookie rankings.
I compared my internal 2026 rookie rankings against four-market ADP sources (Sleeper, Fast Draft, FantasyPros, Underdog) to identify where the market tiers differ from my evaluation. I’ll look to provide weekly updates of blended rookie ADP, especially as we get risers/fallers following the 2026 NFL Combine at the end of February.

2026 Fantasy Football Dynasty Rookie Market Rankings and Tiers
The following is a blended version of the rookie tiers based on some early ADP/rookie rankings.
Tier 1: Elite Prospects
Picks: #1-4 | ADP Range: 1.02 – 4.04 | Cliff to Next: 2.5 picks

- Carnell Tate
- Makai Lemon
- Jordyn Tyson
Love is the consensus 1.01, followed by the top-3 WRs in the class. So really it’s 1A tier, followed by a 1B tier.
The market is saying: “There’s a meaningful value gap between pick 4 and pick 5.” That gap is the tier cliff.
Picks: #5-11 | ADP Range: 6.50 – 11.70 | Cliff to Next: 1.8 picks

This is where we have more mixed rankings. Picks 1.05-1.12 are falling into a tier with the potential to be even smaller, based on your own rookie evals. I’d recommend those with late 1st round picks to trade out for 2027 picks or veterans on the trade block, given that the talent pool might be dried up within this tier by the time you select.
But if you cannot move off these picks, you are better off waiting closer to the draft anyway, as the rookie fever heightens – there are a few players I like at the end of this tier that could be values. Omar Cooper and Chris Brazzell are in the next tier, but I think they are closer to this one.
If you can cheaply acquire some of these later firsts (1.07, 1.08, etc.), you could really cash in on more of the talent in this year’s draft class.

Essentially, this is the last part of the rookie drafts before things shift dramatically into full-blown sleeper/dart throw range. We love that as deep dynasty nerds, but it’s just something to keep in mind. Having a bunch of late second/early third periods isn’t particularly advantageous given how this class is structured. Either flip for future 2027s or package them to move up for a player you might be bullish on within this tier (or another higher tier).

Friends don’t let friends enter their 2026 rookie drafts with a flurry of late 2nds. I do like Mike Washington a decent amount in this range (major Senior Bowl riser), but you shouldn’t be overly bullish on any projected Day 3 RB.
Note the cliff to next is the largest in this tier to the next. That is defined as the ADP jump between the last player in this tier and the first player in the next tier is 2.5 rookie draft slots.

Again, another Senior Bowl riser I like here is Malachi Fields. Not a perfect prospect by any means, but in Round 3 of rookie drafts? I’m in.
In our FantasyPros analyst rookie rankings, Pat Fitzmaurice has Fields at 13th overall (WR6).
I am also much lower on Nussmeier versus consensus (lack of rushing, concerned draft capital will be inflated by bad QB class overall).

As with most rookie drafts, the late rounds are the wild, wild west. If you have picks to burn, just go after your guys.
