SAN FRANCISCO — Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry went through a full practice on Tuesday in his continued rehab from a runner’s knee injury. Warriors coach Steve Kerr said that Curry will get some 5-on-5 scrimmaging in after practice — a significant step that Curry hasn’t been able to take since leaving a Jan. 30th loss to the Detroit Pistons early.

Kerr said that Tuesday’s practice was light and was filled with a lot of film work, but that it was a good step for Curry in his return.

Kerr said Curry will be out on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs and would be “doubtful” for Thursday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Still, Kerr sounded cautiously optimistic about Curry being able to return this season. Curry has continued to push behind the scenes to make a return happen and was hopeful that he would have a few games to get a rhythm before the start of the Play-In games on April 15th.

Curry told The Athletic earlier this month that he had no desire to sit out the rest of the season and would play whenever the training staff cleared him.

“That’s not who we are,” Curry told The Athletic after the Warriors’ 110-107 loss to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on March 15th. “If we have stuff to play for, we play. So, I’m working to get back.”
