Just a week ago, Nathan MacKinnon was the clear Conn Smythe odds favorite, but Mitch Marner and the surging Vegas Golden Knights now have the high ground.

With the Vegas Golden Knights jumping all over the Colorado Avalanche in the Stanley Cup odds, superstar winger Mitch Marner is now favored in the 2026 Conn Smythe odds.

Leading all postseason players in points, Marner is suddenly in front of Nathan MacKinnon, who had spearheaded the odds board for the Avs before they dropped into a 2-0 deficit in the Western Conference Finals.

    Conn Smythe Trophy odds analysis

With Marner now in front, teammate Jack Eichel has seen his odds move from +2250 to +1300, with the Colorado Avalanche slipping in SCF futures after Vegas stole the first two games on the road.

While the Montreal Canadiens landed the first blow in Game 1 against the Carolina Hurricanes, Frederik Andersen (+675) still has a leg up over Jakub Dobes (+1300).

    📜 Conn Smythe Trophy history

A quick look at recent NHL Conn Smythe Trophy winners and the teams they played for.

    Understanding Conn Smythe Trophy odds

Sportsbooks will post Conn Smythe Trophy odds as early as the beginning of the playoffs. These NHL futures are constantly adjusted throughout the postseason depending on how well players perform as well as their team success. Sportsbooks will also adjust the NHL awards odds based on handle and liability to certain players.

Conn Smythe Trophy odds will usually look like this:

This means that on a $100 bet, you’ll stand to win $290 if MacKinnon takes home the Conn Smythe Trophy. If it’s close to the end of the Stanley Cup playoffs and a player has stood out as the obvious MVP of the series they might have a minus sign (-) ahead of their odds like this:

This means that if you bet on McDavid to win the Conn Smythe Trophy, you would have needed to bet $175 to profit $100.

    Conn Smythe Trophy Odds FAQs

Vegas’ Mitch Marner (+370) is the betting favorite to win the 2026 Conn Smythe Trophy.

Florida center Sam Bennett won the 2025 Conn Smythe after scoring 15 goals during the Panthers’ Stanley Cup run.

The Conn Smythe has been awarded to a goaltender 17 times. Last was Andrei Vasilevskiy in 2021, then Jonathan Quick in 2012 before that.

Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Sidney Crosby, and Bernie Parent are the only players to receive the award multiple times.

Six players have won the Conn Smythe despite their team losing in the Stanley Cup Finals, most recently Connor McDavid in 2024 and Jean-Sebastien Giguere in 2003.
