
A FOOTBALL fan in Germany tragically died after suffering a medical emergency before kick-off.
The sad incident occurred ahead of RB Leipzig’s home German Cup clash at Magdeburg.

The Bundesliga giants won the clash 3-1 as they booked their spot in the quarter-finals.
But the game was overshadowed by the death of a supporter in the travelling stand.
Both sides confirmed a Magdeburg fan fell ill before the start of the match.
The person was resuscitated by medics at the scene.

And they were then rushed to hospital as the game kicked off.
Tragically, it was later revealed that the supporter had passed away.
Leipzig told fans about the sad news on social media.
A statement read: “We had all been looking forward to a great cup evening under the floodlights.
“Now it is overshadowed by a sad message. We must sadly inform you that the Magdeburg fan who had to be resuscitated before the game has passed away in hospital.
“We are sad and full of compassion for the relatives. We would like to express our sincere condolences to them and wish them much strength.”
Supporters were quick to pay their respects to the deceased fan on social media.
One said: “Rest in peace and heartfelt condolences to the family.”
Another noted: “Rest in peace, strength to the family.”
One added: “Condolences to their friends and family.
